REALITY?
This year’s theme invites us to explore the idea of reality in its various forms and meanings. It encourages you to examine how we perceive, construct and interpret reality, whilst considering the ways in which our beliefs and assumptions shape and influence our understanding of the world around us.
We have asked 6 incredible speakers to join us on the TEDxAmsterdam stage to share their reality.
At TEDxAmsterdam, our task was to craft an immersive experience integrating light shows, real-time audio-visuals, and live dance/performance movements. Our solution involved the development of a fully interactive system providing real-time control over the lights in the Groote Zaal, responding dynamically to the dancers and sound for a synchronized experience.
We also curated real-time video and light content, thoughtfully enhancing each section to complement the speakers’ talks. This sensory journey blends visual artistry, dance, music, infographics, and real-time videos.
To ensure precision, we created a fully real-time custom show control and light mapping software for Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ’s LED walls. This allowed us complete real-time control over lighting, supported by previsualization software for effortless show design and adjustments during the production phase.
What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxAmsterdam, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxAmsterdam event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
